Trout
To fish for trout on the rivers Ribble and Hodder , you need good water for the fly , I gave up my membership for upper reaches of these two rivers when my little lad was born this and other commitments meant I was spending less time fishing, it was expensive then and now its worse. With membership for golf costing the best part of £500 and the fishing rites over £4oo the money spent could not be justified , although when I'm hacking my brains out on a golf coarse I think I may of picked the wrong one to give up .
Now a few years later I seem to have a little more time and money so a return to casting the fly is very much on the agenda had a few little casts last year. It also helps that Phil has decided to start fly fishing so we hope to get some practice in over the next couple of years .
With our other obsession being trotting with a Center pin we still encounter trout from the Ribble one day brought us 12 fish all only around a pound but 5 being very fresh Sea Trout

''A Thought''
A simple philosophy I have adopted over the years has been tested and re-enforced in the past few weeks. It is to celebrate those good and pleasing things encountered in daily life, no matter how small, with at least the same vigour as I bemoan the bad or merely vexing.
